My plan is to crush my enemies, see them driven before me, and hear the lamentations of their women.
been reading the hell out of this book for a couple years. Never gets old.
Nice...got this on the Kindle
What evs. @WValtakis has his sword!
I will contemplate this on the Tree of Woe
Can't. It's 2020. Hurricane blew it away.
Dammit! But we still have the Wheel of Pain right? RIGHT!?!?
yes, also known as 2020
I don't think a hurricane could blow that one away. It was last spotted in OH.
2020 has not been a total waste for me – I bought my first of several CPK knives this year.
For the rest of 2020, I hope to remain COVID-free (and buy another CPK knife or two ).
I need this. Thank you for the enlightenment.
I feel like a turd just realizing that there are Conan books.
when I read these stories, I see the comics in my mind's eye
Oh. Shit. I missed this when you posted somehow...I have all the books in paperback already, but this NEEDS to be in my life!
My goal is to increase my CPK collection!
I just want to make it to 2025
it's awesome to have them all in one place.
Already ordered on Amazon The "also bought" was kinda interesting with the Necronomicon thrown in
I almost bought the Necronomicon the same time I picked up this book, and I should've. I've since learned to somewhat better separate the art product of an individual from their ideology. Interestingly, Lovecraft's writing was in part fuelled by his bigotry and the fear that's intrinsic with that.
Similarly, R. E. Howard was known to have written his Conan stories at all hours, spurred on by a very real sense that Conan himself was standing over his shoulder, ready to disembowel him with a scimitar, impale him with a spear or sever his head with an axe, should he fall asleep while writing, or dawdle. The 'black lotus' featured prominently in many of his stories, and I'm pretty sure that he and his contemporaries, ie; Lovecraft, were frequent users of certain mind altering substances. Pretty sure everyone was on the cocaine those days.
