I'm not a collector but yes, I'm interested! When I was quite young I was fascinated by my father's fountain pen and the bottled ink he used. In high school I used a Shaeffer (I think it was) cartridge fountain pen for a while. I still remember always having an extra cartridge with me as I went to class. Not too long ago I happened across a review for a $10 Amazon Basics fountain pen and thought it was interesting. I had no idea there were still cheap fountain pens available. I guess I assumed it had become a high end specialty item by now. I was intrigued and ended up ordering an inexpensive Parker Jotter and am enjoying using it. I don't write that much by hand, but I always keep it handy for small notes and such.

Yes there is something quite intriguing with fountain pens, I too always keep one near me because they really are so much nicer than ballpoints imo. If you want to check out some more that dont break the bank check out jinhao pens, they are on ebay and are surprisingly really nice for the 5 bucks they are lol, id recommend the x450 or x750, they are sure to get you falling down the rabbit hole ;)
    stay safe and well.

Yep, use one everyday actually. I work for a municipality and have to sign permits all the time and a ball/gel point just got too sloppy. I noticed I tended to rush my signature and decided to slow it down. A fountain pen was the perfect instrument to force me to do that. I picked up a Sheaffer calligraphy pen with a medium tip at the local art supply store. I actually have to think about forming the letters as I write and the result is much better appearance. I'm constantly amazed at the number of people who see me signing something and say how nice it is to see someone using script. It always makes me think of all those signers of the Declaration of Independence putting their life on the line with a signature, in some distant way I feel connected.

Definitely not a collector, but I use one every day as well. Inexpensive, but I like the nibs and they’re very nice and write very smoothly. Also compliments, mostly out of surprise and intrigue. A Parker or a Conklin are what I’ll typically have with me on any given day. I write a lot every day for work.

It has knocked everything else out of my pocket. I used to rotate through the collection. No more.

I have a fairly significant fountain pen collection, and have between seven and ten pens inked at any given time. My collection consists of several higher end (spendy) gold-nibbed pens many midrange and less expensive pens, and I've got...the term might be "an embarrassingly large" ink collection.

I use them for taking notes at college. I like that I can vary my line thickness with them, so I can bold my note headings. I just use a Cross from Staples though, not fancy ones.

I like fountain pens and calligraphy pens, but don't like the care required for daily use. Maybe when I have more work behind the desk I'll have a chance to dabble with them again.

Ive never found they need much care. I just flush them out with clean water every few weeks, and they are good to go again. just make sure you store them well, and don't drop them.

Just one is use right now though it's an EDC. I like it a lot, it's a Namisu Orion in Ti. I wish I had more time to write. Haven't had the drive of late. I also have a nice Lamy Studio. I'd love a Lamy 2000 one day.

I also enjoy a good fountain pen. Have a few...some cheaper ones, and some midgrade Lamys. :) Nothing like @Quiet’s gold nibs tho. ;) I must say, I enjoy a great calligraphy pen a little more. ;)
