Avatars interest me. They really do become closely aligned with particular members, and their connections to identity can run pretty deep. Just as an example, I readily connect folks like Bastid and Thomason with their avatars. I'm cleaning/organizing files today, and running across a folder of avatars made me think about who I've been on BFC. Anybody else got such a collection? . . . . .
interesting topic, and now that I think about it, you're right. haven't kept any of mine in a folder or anything, but I've been Alice Abernathy and River Tam,,,, wonder what that says about my 'inner me' lol some folks have some pretty good ones, the funnier the better
I've used my daughter's portrait of me since I became a gold member about 6(?) years ago. It's like a picture you put up on the fridge. Good likeness too. I've never given much thought about changing it.
My avatar is me, and always has been...The present one is one I took with my web-cam a few months ago.
Avatars? We got Avatars? Why doesn't anyone tell me these things . . . I feel so darn dense sometimes.
and shiny! lets see i have been the RAT cutlery logo, a glock 17, small sebenza, and now i have the machete avatar.
My old one was a stuffed bear I got for a birthday present a long time ago; my latest is 'Dug' from UP. Some avatars here are great, some are . . . not so much. ~Chris

Best avatar ever is Danbo? I can't remember the name, but the picture is unforgettable. My avatar has been a picture of a porcupine I took and a knife I'm currently trading but still like alot.
I first used Kandoo because of the inherent humor in a butt wiping frog: Then Beth Ann "piratized" Kandoo: Most recently, on a trip to the heart of darkest Peru, I got a picture of this guy: I believe it was fate.
