Hell of a day, started off getting a royal reaming from the boss, but finished off with a surprised 'attaboy from her and a realization that I'm not just goofing off all day.

Got home just as the wife was putting dinner on the table, pork chops, asparagus, smashed potatoes (from scratch). Lots of benefit being with a trained chef...

Bobby, remember two things, always take Daniels advice, and always start the longest cooking item first. Next time, throw the bread in the oven under the broiler on the top rack for 2 minutes at 400°. Hope you didn't toss that bread, cut into cubes, brush with oil, throw them in the oven and make croutons for a salad. Oh, about that first thing, only 50% of what he tells you is true, but you have to figure out which half is which

Just as I was leaving work today, I get a company email from payroll, we get paid tomorrow (two days early) so we all have our money for black Friday, lol! I see where their priorities lay...

Happy thanksgiving!

Lots going on here. Much of the accumulated stress of the past few months is relieved now. Photo project done and delivered. Art direction contract converted to full time Sr. Art Director employment, and the government screwed up in my favor and will be sending us cash instead of the other way around.

Phew.

Guess I can buy more knives now.

Make it a great one. I'm going to sleep for about a week now.

Liam, getting taxes back is always better than the other way around! I'm wondering which way mine is going to swing, all the Obamacare law changes here and everything it's just not known how it's going to affect our taxes yet.

Well, mom came home from the hospital yesterday. She's doing excellent. Had a scare on Tuesday night/Wednesday morning. My sister in law went to the urgent care late for severe stomach pain, got admitted to the hospital right away. A CT scan was done Wednesday morning and the found a blockage. Didn't know what kind, so they had to put her into surgery right away to figure it out. She had a herniated colon. She is home from the hospital now as well. I'm tired of all this stressing out over family! I just need a beer. I don't care if it's only 9am...

Funny, mom had her knee replaced and knew right from the start she wasn't going to be able to stand all day in the kitchen making thanksgiving dinner, so my sister in law said she would. Well, when she went to the Hospital the other day she said she is probably going to have to cancel it! But, everything worked out and she is well enough to do some stuff and bark orders at my brother.

Got a 15# ham in the oven here. Been soaking it for a week too. It's going to the wife's family dinner where we are headed first, then headed to my brothers. Think I'm gonna just relax today and not even worry about anything.
