    Uncle,
You and Great Uncle Frank are, as always, in my prayers. May he have a fair wind and a following sea on his journey.

Words are always hard to come by in these times.
I offer my condolences and blessings in what is the end to what I know has been extremely difficult times for you and your family and "congratulations" (for lack of a better word) to you in knowing that he is in a better and more peaceful place.

    "El Viaje Definitivo"
    (The Definitive Journey):
    (Juan Ramon Jimenez.)

...and I will leave. But the birds will stay, singing:
and my garden will stay, with its green tree,
    with its water well.
Many afternoons the skies will be blue and placid,
and the bells in the belfry will chime,
as they are chiming this very afternoon.
The people who have loved me will pass away,
and the town will burst anew every year.
But my spirit will always wander nostalgic
in the same recondite corner of my flowery garden.

Do not carve on stone or wood:
"He was honest" or "He was good."
Write in smoke on a passing breeze, Seven words........
and the words are these, telling all that a volume could:
"He lived, he laughed.............And he understood."

Uncle Bill, no matter the age and the long, full life or how much it is expected or how well you are mentally prepared, such a thing is never really accepted or easy when it does finally come.

I pray that God will bless you and yours, and I wish you serenity and peace.

    Best Regards,

    Norm

Uncle Frank lived a rich and fruitful life. He left an enduring legacy for all to remember him by. He had you for a son. A splendid example of a life well lived.

    Death is but a transition.

    My prayers for your family.

As much as we try to prepare for such an event, it seems near impossible. Prayers sent for Great Uncle Frank and your whole family, from another in Texas.

( for Uncle, the tin can sailor )

Oh Fiddler's Green is the place I hear tell,

Where sailormen go if they don't go to hell,

Where there's wind in the rigging and no work to do,

And the captain's below making tea for the crew.

    -------------------------------
    CHORUS
    -------------------------------
Wrap me up in me oilskin and jumper,

No more on the docks I'll be seen.

Just tell me old shipmates I'm taking a trip, mates,

I'll see you some day at Fiddler's Green
