    When I was in college I had a Kabar as my only fixed blade. It was stolen out of my truck right after I graduated. Recently I had to get another one. It still is what most fixed blades of that size are compared against for me.

    Here’s my Grandfathers Ka-Bar, I don’t know how long he had it but it was at least as long as I can remember. This knife took care of quit a few deer, rabbits, ducks, pheasants, and a few black bears. I haven’t cleaned or sharpened it since I’ve had it just a little oil wipe down, the memories are all I need out of this knife. It was made by Union Cutlery in Olean, NY

    Is there a number stamped on the finger guard. Beautiful knife even without the priceless memories.
