What are the knife laws for Georgia?

I keep seeing differing information. Thanks! Any information is very helpful.

Georgia changed it's laws a few years ago to make carrying all knives under 5" legal for everyone. It doesn't matter if it is concealed or open, what kind of knife it is (even a switchblade) or what age you are. Over 5" requires a license to carry. Georgia also passed preemption so cities like Atlanta no longer can pass their own knife laws. The whole state has to follow the same regulations now.

Not exactly. Georgia has always allowed carry of knives under 5-inches concealed without a CCW. In 2017 we increased the length to carry concealed without a CCW to 12 inches. That was follow-up to our signature Knife law Preemption that was enacted in 2012. Perhaps one day we'll get rid of the length restriction entirely, but last we looked that was a 31-page bill, which makes it difficult to get passed. OTOH, we never give up....

You're right. That was me somewhat flippantly copy and pasting an old answer from years ago because the OP couldn't be bothered to use the search feature.
