Got one last night. Thanks to the Wife and her amazing "dog ears" and "owl eyes" she pointed out where they were. Between her and I (and the forum folks here), I got it with the AR. For everyone else, I'm going to let her claim badassery and taking it with her USPc 9 LEM. (I'm toting my P30SK) We haven't had date night in almost 2 months so I guess this counts. :)

Nice one... too big for food but ya got him. When you come across a sow with piglets then you've got a BBQ in the making

He was big but he's kind of a largish medium sized one. We've had them around here where their backs are up to the 3rd barbed wire of a fence. (about waist high)

There's 1.5M in TX so plenty for everyone! http://www.wideopenspaces.com/texas-losing-war-feral-hogs/

Thanks. It was a bit crazy though. The Wife actually gave up for the night and was headed back to our house when she came across them and could hear them about 100 feet away from her. It was pitch black out and we each had headsets in our ears and were talking on the phone so we briefly lit up our flashlights to see where each other were at for certain. She was off to the right from the hogs as I was aiming and it didn't give me a warm fuzzy at the time. I only took one shot and didn't want to open up with her so close. But, we counted to 3 and shot at the same time. Since she was so close, she unloaded most of a clip of 9mm with the HK USPc and got a number of them but didn't kill them on the spot.

I concur on the too big part. We may switch over to trapping to get more at a time. These folks have some cool videos and methods.

To get back on topic, I had my commando carbon fiber Apache K on my belt. :D

    ^^Beautiful photo Phillip!

You are lucky that you live in a "free state." California severely restricts how much fun we can have here. Concealed fixed blades are a felony. Silencers are a felony. I am not sure if that Sig model is still even on the "approved list" for purchase. I hate to get political, but our far, far, far Left Wing majority state legislature doesn't have a clue. I hope to escape CA someday. In the meantime, I appreciate living vicariously through your amazing collection of tools.

    Thanks,

    Phil

Thanks Phil. Being from the south, we just consider it rude (not a felony) to bother your neighbors while shooting. ;)

Love seeing my work next to your pieces! This one brings a nice flair to the pair. I look forward to seeing how the one off fits into your rotation of knives. Thank you for sharing Phillip!

Woah Jerry. I know zip about hog hunting but that looks like one big damn pig. I am guessing "here piggy piggy" is not a proper pig call.

I agree, from all the photos from Phillip... I can only assume he is a connoisseur of many things.
