Those dudes new quick. They could build a house in three days.
Just got settled in on my first of seven nightshifts...guess who's plant is still shutdown for the weekend? Weird walking around a quiet power plant...does give me time for a lot of arts and crafts projects the next couple of nights
Worked 16 hours yesterday, and at 12.5 so far today... Covering half of first shift, 2nd shift, and half of 3rd shift. At least I don't have to work the weekend (eta - though I am on call tomorrow, I shouldn't have to work. Fingers crossed.)
Aforementioned arts and crafts, a.k.a. keychain pry widgets
Not bad for a 8 hour night shift Chip, and my lights are still on.
I do 12 hour shifts
That’s right, your still in the learning stage.
Practice makes perfect, as they say
And that’s what you get! Are those done on steel or Ti? Anodizing them? Either way nice work, would love you have do some engraving for me once you get it down.
There was a German knight who got his hand shot off by a cannon in 1504 and he wore a series of articulated iron hands after that, including into battle. The name of this absolute legend was Gots von Berlichingen, and his catch phrase was Er kann mich im Arsche lecken ("he can lick me in the arse").
They're leftover 20CV steel from another project I'll squeeze in a project anytime for you Martin
Thanks Chip, but I’m like the little old lady who can’t make up her mind,, being an artist you would have to have the patience of Jobe.
Happy palindrome day! 02-02-2020
Curious, why do most sellers remove the price and write SOLD? It could easily be annotated that it is sold but that would help future sellers price their items. Am I missing something?
Here's about 20 threads on this:
And if you’re interested in the original selling prices from CPK, they can be found in the comprehensive “CPK Encyclopedia” thread ARtrvlr was so gracious to create and maintain. Lots of great information and CPK history there. I refer to it frequently. Mike
This topic has been discussed and debated ad nauseam mostly in the general and the GBU sections and beaten to death! Personally, I’m against the practice because I prefer points of reference in a community emphasized and member driven forum but the majority consensus or at least that of the-powers-that-be has been tolerant of this practice primarily predicted on the notion that it’s ultimately a private business between two private parties. Shrugs.
ETA: when I was very new, I also did this just because I had thought that them were the rules and that all the cool kids did it that way!
I always appreciated having previous FS threads retain the price for reference. As a member of another forum for flashlights, this practice is actually enforced so as to educate others as to why there is such a high asking price for a specific piece and not another. Upon first joining the CPK squad, I reached out to a knowledgeable few to inquire about pricing of certain pieces, which always felt a bit of a bother. To cold message another just to ask for pricing of pieces tends to leave me a bit embarrassed. Regardless, I am happy to now know that leaving the price of an item after it has sold is a custom rather than a rule.
it's a sad fucking day. I knew each of these kids since they were little
really good boys.
Lorien, my sympathies to both you and your community for the tragic loss of these young lives
