Too long. 2020 is the absolute worst.
Jo, sending you a massive brotherly group hug from all the CPK regulars. We designate Nathan to proxy this GH on our behalves. Step up Nathan!
Oh ETA: #stillnotnathan
My very best heartfelt wishes to the very awesome Carothers.
I'm with you Jo, way too much heavy stuff going on in our lives too.
Thoughts and prayers to you and yours.
We're currently in our fifth year of 2020. I think we're looking at two maybe three more years of this...
2020 was a lemon. Still trying to figure out how to make some lemonade
Time for the optometrists to come up with a different term for perfect vision, 'cuz 2020 looks all messed up.
I hate to say it but I think you're right.
Yeah, hate to break it to you Lorien but you need other ingredients for lemonade.
I say just grab some good tequila, maybe a little salt, and rock the lemons that way. Makes the year a lot easier to deal with as well
Nathan, I made a set of liners for my FK2. I would have preferred to get them from you. They would have fit better (seamless) and would have saved me some time. I really like them and would probably buy several pairs for various knives. I’m sure I’m not alone in that. I was able to use the original screws and sheath without any issue. Leather sheaths would stretch and Kydex is easy to expand with a heat gun or even a hair drier if someone used multiple liners.
If you decide to do it please consider offering colors in addition to black.
I opted for an Evenheat kiln, some precision ground A2 flat stock and some belts. We'll see what I can squeeze from that
Go for the inward significance of A2.
That ought to be interesting, guessing it will be nice and sharp with bright yellow scales
Make sure to post pics
Maybe I’m reading too much into this, and these posts in two different threads are in no way related, but I’m beginning to wonder if you’re stringing us along...
Might you have a surprise in the works? Or has my life of treachery and deviousness caused me to over think things and see these traits in others?
right over my head!
I like A2- not the best edge holding, not the toughest, but it's nice to work with and will do the job. It's cheap, available in Canada in PG form, and can be hardened without messy oil quenching. I have so much to learn and am more of a learn on the job kind of person, and I guess I'll see what happens
You’ll do great, I’m certain.
So, will the first successful experiment be dubbed the LAL (Lorien Arnold Lemonator)?
or maybe just "Elemonator"?
My memory could be going but I somewhat recall some discussion about a new integral dagger being developed.
Is the Boot Knife the result of that? It seems like the closest thing right now but not sure if something longer is in the works.
^ IIRC, the concept of an integral Shiv was on their big board of ideas. The one which Nathan had said would probably cost as much as a tooth crown. But then again, this was all in the discussion during the more certain times of the year known as 2019, so the deck could've very well been shuffled a few times since then.
