Love the classic pairings. Nothing like an American made .22 lever action and folding knife.

@Southern Appalachia I haven't seen a Double Automatic in years, they were great shotguns. Is yours a Twelvette or Twentyweight?

@JB in SC It’s a twelvette at about 6.75 pounds. Improved Cylinder on this one. Sweet little autoloaders

Thanks. Yep lots of folks do like the darker. Some day I'm gonna buy a side of tannery dyed leather and see how it tools.

    Thanks @Prester John

    Thanks @mitch4ging me too!

    Kinda how I think too.

@JohnDF Yep on sheaths I feel it takes about half the life span out of it.

    Thanks

Sorry about my late response, Dennis. Both of those rifles are absolute beauties but that 94... Just wow. An excellent rifle that has some stories to tell, I am sure.

Thank you for posting the pics.

I posted this awhile back in the beverages thread but I think it could suit this place nicely as well.

A good looking outfit. I wonder how color case hardened blades on a knife would look? Would it change the blade and make it too hard? If not, it’d make for an interesting combo.

    No worries, thanks Dylan.
The serial number dates it to '49.
It was my grandfather's saddle rifle. Shot many a deer down in New Mexico.

Can't argue with any of that! Lovely leather tooling, as well. What is the hide?

Nice. It's hard to mistake a walker for anything else.

I like how the same folks that prefer traditional knives prefer traditional guns. Some things just don't need changing.

Thanks. That’s an Axis deer. They’re spreading like crazy in TX.
The holster is from El Paso Saddlery. They’ve made rigs for Gen. Patton, John Wesley Hardin, John Wayne, and others.

I'd be happy if my only guns were an 1873 Colt Peacemaker (engraved, nickel plated, with ivory grips!) and an 1873 Winchester.

Agreed! All the classic winchesters are beautiful but I have a particular fondness for the 1886.
