My entire region has been buzzing about this story. Three boys, 17, 18, and 20, befriended a 47 year old mentally challenged man. One night he had just taken a shower and was laying on his bed in his pajamas. The three drove up in a truck, and entered his house. They then proceeded to take turns holding him down and gang raping him. I knew all of these boys, not as friends, but I had talked with them. The 20 year old is the leader of a youth group. Nobody has any idea why they would do this, the general theory is that they were done up on mescaline or some drug. But still, raping an old man? The 18 and 20 year olds were caught and confessed, the 17 year old is on the run. Absolutely disgusting. The first gang rape in our county.

What is wrong with our society? The only justice in this is that they face up to life in prison, where they can think about what they did while the big boys give them a taste of their own medicine. What do you all think we should do with our societies rapists and murderers?

Take a big tall tree and a short piece of rope,
I'd hang 'em up high and let 'em swing until the sun goes down!

An excerpt from Charlie Daniel's "Simple Man". Sums up my feelings pretty accurately.

I did a lot of mescaline when I was that age and that didn't ever make me want to do something like THAT!

I hear stuff like that all the time. Really OK kids doing horrendous stuff.

I have a friend who is a Jehovah's Witness. She has this explanation that I don't necessarily believe but really makes sense in cases like that. She says that the Devil was unchained and released on earth for 1000 years like it says in the Book of Revelations and he's working on these young kids.

Are you serious? Was this the man who used to hang out around the town library and baseball games? I forget his name, John, could be.

This is really sick. It just boggles the mind that kids could do something like that.

What were the names of the kids who did this? Given their ages, I could have even known some of them from when I was in school... although I can't imagine anyone I used to know doing something like that.

It may be the first reported gang rape, but I doubt it's the first gang rape in your county.

I did some internship with the City Of Hope- and mentally retarded clients. The women were always looking for a 'boyfriend', and many had to be sterilized or kept on birth control. Not only from other clients, but some of the staff would occasionally be caught. And not just men to women; one nurse was found atop a DD man one night. "It is good therapy for him." she told the nursing instructor.

That's totally sad. Has this stuff always been going on or is it getting worse? I can't imagine, even in my less-than-lawful days doing anything like this.

^ I don't really think this is the place to get into a discussion on eschatology, but this is another false teaching of the Watchtower Society. What Revelation really says is that Jesus will reign on the earth for 1,000 years, after which, He will unchain Satan who will again deceive some for a short time before he is cast forever into the lake of fire. As far as I know, most mainline churches believe that Satan does prowl the earth like a roaring lion looking for whom he may devour. He is only restrained by the presence of the Holy Spirit living in "believers." But it ain't much restraint, Satan does bad stuff, dude.

There is something weird that goes on in groups of teenagers, both male and female.
Usually there is a dominant/charimatic leader and a tremendous amount of emotional energy in teens that can be directed with great force in any direction.
Reminds me of "lord of the flies."

    Poor guy.

This is an odd story. Even with my very slight degree in psychology and all the classes i had to take in social psychology, it still boggles my mind that there are people out there that would/could do something like this. We actually had a young guy working for us one summer when i was still on our building crew that would make really graphic sexual comments about some of the the people whose house we were working at. Young guy, too. Not more than 20. It was beyond the under the breath "I'd do her" about the cute 18-40 year old daughter/bored house wife that just about every construction worker would make. It was really really graphic stuff. Not mainstream in the least. He was very preoccupied with over-the-top sex. I had to tell him to keep his mouth shut about that stuff in case a customer would hear it. He quit halfway intot he summer to take a job that paided more (and i was so sorry to see him go;)), but i later heard that he was in trouble with the police for sexually assulting an elderly lady in her 80's. It had to be a power thing with him. he wasn't a very big guy and was a bit of an over-confident, know-it-all [email protected]$$. Still a sick guy and i believe that he is walking the streets now. Had i known then what i know now we would have never hired the perv.

    Hang 'em high.

Know lots of people who'd disagree with me, it's not a Christian attitude, etc. Bull. Love your neighbor sure, but doesn't mean you leave people like this around to hurt those who can't defend themselves. Stuff like this sickens me.

But will stop there. In a good mood today, don't want to get into full blown rant and ruin that.

Wasn't there a pretty crappy movie in the latter part of the 90's call "No Escape" or something like that where they put all the really nasty crimals on an island that governed itself? Pretty cool idea, but crappy movie for the most part.
Still, to have these kinds of animals roaming the streets sickens me. Mugging old people is one thing. Not right by any means, but at least it has a logical thought to it. Old people are easy targets. However, preying on them sexually for a power boost is just not right or logical on any level. It is almost the most mean-spirited thing i can think of next to preying on children. To me, the elderly have paid their dues. Worked a long time, had careers, had a very productive place in the world machine. Now that they are worn out, weak, not as physically attractive as they once were, and generally pushed aside for the newer generation, they shouldnt have to worry about being victims of such crimes. Just very sad to me.

No KM, it wasnt John. I dont want to say names on the internet but it was the guy who was always on the moped.

Some new sickening developements today. The kids werent high on anything. One of the boys had actually met this man through the youth group and picked him as a target. It was definately pre-meditated. More than likely they figured he was an easy target and that they could come back for more. Everyone who knew the vicim says he was a sweet man. They were all caught, the 17 & 20 year olds are out on bail but the 18 year old lives out of state and came back to visit, so he is still in jail. Alot of people expect them to run to Canada, but I doubt it. There is real fear that the 17 year old might get violent. His life is practically ruined now, his father has disowned him, and he had shown quite a few people a hit list he had made. This is by far and away the worse thing that has ever happened here. The 20 year olds uncle is a very powerful man in town and rumors are surfacing that he had paid off the newspapers and covered up the story. This all happened on the 3rd, and these people have been hanging around town and coming to school like nothing had ever happened, until yesterday. Talk about small town scandal! The more that is revealed here, the worse it gets.

more I hear, more I change my mind. Kill 'em still, but make it slow. Not high, no excuse. Hell, even if they were high, absolutely no excuse for something like this.

    Make it hurt.

Put 'em in the pen for a while though, and not little town lockup. Let them get some real first hand experience as to exactly what they put this guy through, as BUbba makes each of them his bride.

I believe the proper response would be to evicerate them, lop off the offending body parts, and burn the pile while they watch. then tie each limb to a seperate horse and apply the whip. All of this done while their victim looks on eating ice cream.

I realize that this isn't the correct response, but these maggots better be thanking their lucky stars for the wussified legal system in this country. I've seen video tape of what is done to rapists in the middle east. It's a family affair. They chain the rapist(s) to a wall and give the family and/or friends of the victim AK-47s.

These "gentlemen" have robbed this poor man of his dignity at the least, and have breathed long enough.

    Sorry, rant over

These are hasty plans for retribution. We have science. Let us cut a small portion off the body, allow to heal, then cut some more until the person has only a head and torso left. Naturally, that is not the end. This might take a year or two.

There is always the death of 100,000 bbs. Allow family members and friends to shoot at the guilty while he's in a wooden stock. But only bb's; requiring many tens of thousands of shots to kill.

I've always felt that medical science has been misdirected, for these uses. We have tons of drugs that dull pain. I want drugs, for people like this, that enhance yet. Yet, at same time, disable human body's ability to black out when pain becomes too much, or to dull it out/ignore it.
