I'm a knife nut, so I've got a bunch of folding knives and fixed blade knives. With regard to an EDC knife, I actually have a rotation like many others I would assume, but the five (5) following knives receive the most consistent pocket time:
    (1) Benchmade Mini Griptilian
    (2) Spyderco Delica 4
    (3) Spyderco Tenacious
    (4) Spyderco Paramilitary 2
    (5) Kershaw Blur S30V
I've also been carrying my CRKT Pilar and Kershaw Westin quite a bit, so I should at least mention them as well. Maybe you guys can put me on to another knife to add to my collection...

Well, these are some very, very impressive choices. I should have also mentioned that I really enjoy carrying my Spyderco Sage. I really need to get my hands on a Spydie Para 3 and the Endura. I used to have an Endura but sold it. I miss it.

I heard a lot of great things about the Benchmade Bugout. I really like what I've heard, but my understanding is that knife is definitely more EDC than Bugout bag knife.

Yep, it's definitely an edc designed to be as lightweight as possible. Which makes it great for many applications, and makes it very likely to be the knife you actually have on you, and thus, at least for me, the one I actually end up using the most.

I agree. I've handled several Bugouts since they came out and it's more of what I'd carry around daily than what I'd pack to use "out there". In fact, the knife I have on my "arrive alive" bag in my car is an Izula 2. It's been clipped to the bag for years. Been used a little... gets checked and touched up regularly... it's tough and totally dependable. The Bugout's nice. I do like it, just not in a SHTF or "whatever, wherever, whenever" situation.

Well, the one you have on you is the best knife you have. I want a Bugout, I was just wondering if what I had heard about the Bugout being an odd name for this knife was true given the fact that it is so light, and therefore an excellent EDC knife. It could be tough as nails as far as I know. I haven't handled one yet, but the Bugout and the Para 3 are the tops on my wish list right now.

It's pretty tough, I must say. Some guys have really pounded on them with good results. Obviously it's all relative, but pound for pound, it makes a strong statement.

My beloved Spyderco Southard has fallen off the list! And the Umnumzaan...say it’s not so!

Anyhow, here’s my top 5 as it stands tonight:

    In order:
    1. Lg Inkosi CF Insingo
    2. Spyderco Rhino
    3. Schempp Bowie
    4. Spydiechef
    5. SG Spider Monkey.

I like that these threads come along periodically as my collection and tastes (mostly my tastes) change over time.

I forgot about my Spyderco Manix 2 lightweight...that is most definitely an awesome EDC knife!! I haven't been carrying for awhile, but it is definitely one of my faves!
